Kids Teaching Programme
All teachers receive Sunday School Teacher Training and go through CRB clearance before
delivering lessons within the Sunday school department.

The Sunday School schedule is a delivery of lessons over a six week period followed by a one week break for evaluation and a swap over of teachers who will teach for six weeks and so on.

A range of topics are covered to enable them to deal with the practicalities of life that can affect them as young Christians. This includes aspects of behaviour, expectations, progress and success using biblical theories, stories and principles.

All youth are encouraged to take responsibility in the planning and running of J247 activities.
The benefits of their involvement has been evident in their growth and developed relationships
over the years.

Youth Services

The youth take responsibility for at least three youth services each year.
They work collaboratively to plan and arrange all aspects of running a service including the
moderating, praise and worship and preaching.

Youth Conference

Since 2010, they host annual youth conferences over a period of three days commencing with an interactive activity on the Friday night, a series of workshops and services on the Saturday, ending with a youth service on the Sunday.

Enterprise
is a small enterprise which uses funds raised over the past year to reinvest on items for sale. This area is being developed and will include an opportunity for on-line sales.
A range of skills and experiences are utilised by the youth as a result of this project.

Halloween Alternative Concert
The youth host an annual Halloween alternative concert in October. It is held on the last Friday of the school half term holidays and has proved very successful with good attendance and excellent contributions from a range of artists.

Outings and External Activities
With the support of the youth department and where necessary other members within the church, J247 attend a range of external activities and events.

J247 Bible Studies and Discussion topics are interleaved with the activities programme.

These topics address the practical issues that young people have to face on a daily basis and will support their Christian growth and development.

Specialist speakers and contributors are invited to support these sessions as required.

Praise dance, singing practice, games nights, movie nights, concerts, open mic activities,
ministering at other youth events and basic social development takes place during youth meetings
as planned.

J247 activity plans are available on the pin board in the youth department corridor and upon request.
